Humanicrafts

Humanicrafts is  a group of grade 11 students from the HUMSS strand that aims to revive the nationalism and patriotism of our fellow Filipinos regarding native products and locally made goods. Our group also aims to help in dissolving colonial mentality that is evident in our society. We also aim to promote products that are specially made by our fellow Filipinos voluntarily and without expecting something in return.

take time to read this!

There are a lot of things that have gone changes, just like the technology, social norms, fashion trends, educational system, and a lot more! There's nothing in the world that haven't changed anything yet. Yes, probably some things remained the same but in reality everything around us keeps on improving, enhancing and changing, and sometimes we don't even notice it. These changes might cause us either good or bad effects, in such a way that it could affect our lifestyle, perspective, or outlook in life. Sadly, one of the social changes that we encountered as a Filipino is that little by little, we tend to forget our own nationality and identity because of how big is the influence of foreign countries and their culture. One great example would be us ignoring Filipino products and trade it for an imported one. these type of mentality is actually applicable to each and everyone of us because we have this mindset that if it was made by our local craftsmen and businessmen, we see it as a low quality products, but then when we talk about imported goods, most of us Filipinos are so fund of it and we almost see it as the greatest things in the world.

Most of us are actually not able to address and judge an issue and recognize it as a major transformation or a change in our society. Just like us Filipinos not being able to enrich and manifest the creative, beautiful, and colorful traditional handicraft products. Now, some people may see this as a shallow issue but little did we know that it is actually becoming a major problem not only on our cultural heritage but also in our economy's state and value. As time goes by and if we continuously support colonial mentality, it might actually affect the value of Philippine peso.
